Trade sampling at Buyers’ Club, explained.
The Buyers’ Club workflow starts before the event and finishes with the inventory records.
From the archive · This explainer covers the workflow introduced for the May 13, 2026 event. Confirm the current event instructions before preparing a new transfer.
A sample changes hands at the booth. Its record still needs to follow it.
The Buyers’ Club trade-sampling process separates event activity from standard transfers. For exhibitors and licensed buyers, that means planning what comes to the show, recording its movement and closing the loop afterward.
Before the event
Identify the products and quantities intended for trade sampling. In the Packages grid, designate the applicable Package UIDs as trade samples before initiating a transfer. The bulletin specifies finished goods with a TestPassed or RetestPassed status and a trade-sample designation on the physical packaging.
Record the movement
Under Transfers → External, create a new outgoing transfer using the Buyers’ Club event transfer type. Enter the event name and correct destination address, add the applicable packages, then save and submit the transfer.
For the original Buyers’ Club 7 instructions, exhibitors were directed to the event destination for that show. A future event requires its own confirmed details. Carrying an old event name or address into a new manifest creates an avoidable mismatch.
Keep custody clear on the floor
Revelry’s event guidance placed custody with brands at their booths, with samples distributed directly to licensed buyers. It also recommended an internal distribution log recording the dispensary name and license number.
Tier 3 processors and white-label partners should align with their licensed partners on inventory ownership, packaging, tags and responsibility for custody and adjustments. That work belongs in the planning stage, while the teams can still resolve questions together.
Finish the records
After the event, complete the outgoing external transfer and check the resulting inventory records. The bulletin gives a separate process for bringing samples into a physical retail facility, including contacting OCM before the incoming transfer.
The event is one part of the workflow. Preparation, custody and reconciliation make it complete.
